When I’m at a Dead End, God Can Deliver Me

In Romans 4:17 I read, “Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.” (NLT)

The fifth phase God uses to grow my faith occurs when I hit a dead end and it seems like my dream has turned to dust, or is over. When this occurs I’ve just moved into the next phase God uses to grow my faith.

During this dead-end phase, nothing makes sense. Things will be out of my control, and I won’t be able to do anything about it

I’ll think, “Why is this happening to me? God, did I miss your will? Was this dream just something I thought up myself and not from you?” When I start asking those questions, I’m at a dead end, and I need God’s deliverance

While I’m stuck and waiting for deliverance, I need to remember what God can do. The situation may be out of my control, but it’s not out of God’s. When I face a dead end, I shouldn’t focus on what I can’t do. But rather focus on what God can do

Romans 4:17 says, “Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing” (NLT).

Here are two of the many things God can do that I can’t: First, he can give life to the dead. Second, he can create something out of nothing. If God can give life to a dead man, he can give life to my dream. He can create something out of it. He can bring something new

Abraham believed in God. That wasn’t just positive thinking; it was faith. Positive thinking works fine in situations I can control. But positive thinking is not faith, and it’s not enough when I find yourself at a dead end.

In situations that are out of my control, positive thinking becomes worthless. It doesn’t change the situation! When I face things that are out of my control, I need something more than a positive mental attitude. I need faith in God, because he can control what I can’t.

Jesus says in Luke 18:27, “What is impossible with man is possible with God” (NIV). God specializes in the impossible. He works miracles all the time—and he can work them in my life as well!

I should consider today, what dead end am I facing? God is ready to turn this dead end into deliverance. I just need to respond with faith!
