In Malachi 3:10 I read, “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’” (NIV)
The Bible says there’s only one way I can test God: through giving, specifically through tithing.
Malachi 3:9-10 says, “‘You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it’” (NIV).
In my life, I’ve seen God provide over and over again.
I say I trust God with my salvation, forgiveness, freedom, and future in heaven, but will I continue to trust him with my finances? If not, what’s the logic of that?
When it comes to my finances, I need to keep deciding: Will I trust God to keep his promises? As I reflect back on my life of following him, over and over again, I’ve seen that he will!
In summary, I’m to bring / give my whole tithe, so that I can share with others in need and to support the growth of the Kingdom. God even says that I can test him in this, and see if He will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Father, thank you for Word and Jesus as my savior and example. You want me and I need you in my life. Please give me Your strength for today and remind me in little ways that I can always believe in, have faith in and can trust you in everything. This includes being the authority for my life, the source of my self-worth and my hope for the future. You have my best interests in mind. So I ask you to help me to embrace the way you’ve made me; my gifting and passions. Help me to serve and fulfill the mission you have in mind for me.
Father, I always want to give from the plenty that you have provided me to help support others and further your Kingdom.
I ask for wisdom and guidance for my day, my work, my leadership, my interactions with others, doing well and making a difference in my new job. I pray these things through you Son Jesus’ name, Amen.
