In review of Matthew 24:13, it says “He who endures in the end shall be saved.”
Bottom Line:
Those who endure will be saved in the end
What this means to me:
If I keep on being faithful till the end, I will be saved.
Today’s passage comes from a point in which Jesus is telling the disciples about the future. He warned them to not be misled, for many will come in His name, claiming, "I am the Messiah." And unfortunately, they will deceive many. Also we will hear of wars and threats of wars, but we are not to panic. These things must take place, but the end won't follow immediately. Jesus even tells me that I might be arrested, persecuted, killed and hated all over the world because I follow Jesus. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. However Jesus tells us that If I endure this till the end I will be saved.
What I’m learning is that those who persevere will be the ones left standing when everyone else quits! And everyone has that day when “quitting” will look good. No one will go through this life unscathed. His Word tells me that trials will come. And then what? What do you do when you are facing a challenge in life? Do I simply throw in the towel? Or do I put on the full armor of God and get ready to fight the good fight?
Scripture tells me that God’s word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. So If I don’t know where to turn, I can consult His Word. It is sharper than any two-edged when I need to fend off the enemy.
Therefore I should arm myself with the Word of God. If I start preparing today, I will be ready when the battle comes. Don’t wait for the fight is raging to finally crack open the Bible. Satuarate my life and my home in the Word today and get equipped to persevere to the end. God’s Word is the absolute truth and my spiritual sword. Keep it with me at all times.
