In review of Psalm 119:93 it says, “I will never lay aside your laws, for you have used them to restore my joy and health.”
Bottom Line:
Never lay aside his teachings, following them brings joy, health and life.
What this means to me:
I will never lay aside or forget you commandments and teachings, for you use them to restore my joy, health and life.
God’s Word is full of commands that are meant to protect and give me life. If God says to do something, he means for me to do it, and if he says not to do something, I shouldn’t do it. I follow his word, because what’s written in it, is dependable. Furthermore it is unchanging. Fads come and go and change quickly, opinions will change; even science changes. By the time a science textbook is in print, it’s already out of date (much like owning computer books, the become irrelevant quickly.) Everything changes, but one thing, God’s Word, doesn’t. I believe this is because you can never change the truth.
Getting and staying healthy emotionally, relationally, or physically requires me making Jesus Christ the manager, and God’s Word the authority of my life.
David wrote in Psalm 119:93: “I will never lay aside your laws, for you have used them to restore my joy and health” (TLB). God has promised to restore my joy and health if I’ll just do what he says to do and exhibit true meekness.
