In summary of Proverbs 1:7 it says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Bottom Line:
When you take God seriously that's when you cross over into real knowledge, but a fool will despise this and instruction that comes from it.
What this means to me:
Taking God seriously (respecting and obeying) is the first step to crossing over a razor thin line between folly and wisdom. It is this step that you begin a true trip into a foundation of knowledge and wisdom. Not taking God seriously and mocking this leaves one in the side of folly, its like rejecting wisdom and good advice. This means the first step in to real learning is to bow down to God and not thumb a nose at him and such wisdom and learning that can be had. We must move forward with what He instructs us to do even when we don’t know what the outcome will be. That’s what faith is all about, being certain of something we don’t see. The one we follow has a track record of always coming through with what is best for us.
